More great Live drawing tips from a series in the N.Y. Times

RIP Nathan Oliveira 1928-2010

from the Bay Area Figurative School
“My work has usually been universal. The figures have never really been that specific. They’re not clothed; they’re not identified with any trappings that specifically tie them down to 2005. It could be today, but they could be from some other time, a long time ago. So I do connect all the way back to the fundamentals of the cave.”

Campbell River Open Studio Fall Session

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

monday I went drawing for two sessions at Henri's Comox Life drawing group in her studio/gallery. Very pleasant day, check it out if you fancy some daytime drawing. See the poster below for info or enquire at info@marinerslookout.ca .

Found the blog of an old friend who was ahead of me in College (and life) and worked as a bg painter and layout artist in animation with the big boys, well, the large rodent, in the US; he's now living in Seattle and seems to be life drawing very regularly, and posting to a blog. Great stuff. Click on Peter Moehrle.
